5 Different Kinds of Spiritual Baths for Every Mood

Everyone knows that taking a good long hot bubble bath surrounded by candles is a great way to unwind after a long and stressful day. However, what if we told you you could get more of a spiritual boost from your soak? Spiritual baths are a form of cleansing your aura and act like a reset button on your chakras-- it just all depends on what you add in the water! 



The basics of taking a spiritual bath are simple. You should give yourself at least 20 minutes to relax and let the bath water restore you. However, if you only have a few moments, you can easily prepare a foot soak. Don’t worry if your crystal collection isn’t extensive (or even non-existent), you can still have a spiritual journey in the tub as long as you’re reflecting on ways to serve and care for yourself. Since spiritual baths are known to be sometimes an intense experience, it is advised that they’re only taken a month apart from each other.

1. For Self-Love:

For this cleansing bath, you’re going to need 8 fresh or dried rose petals, and 2 tablespoons cinnamon powder. Before your bath, combine these ingredients in a pot on the stovetop and bring to a boil. Then, take it off the heat and let it cool for 15 minutes. 


As you fill the tub with warm water, you can add Epsom salt and crystals like Rose quartz, Amethyst, Rhodochrosite for deepening self-love, and detoxifying benefits. If you feel like your aura has been less than sunny skies recently, try this spiritual bath recipe! While your tub is filling up, sprinkle sea salt and jasmine green tea into the water. Before you get in, light a candle and put on healing music. Then, light a cinnamon stick, blow out the flame, and bless yourself with the smoke. When you’re done place your hand or a clear quartz crystal on your solar plexus and imagine a bright white light coming from within you. Make sure you soak in this shiny new energy you’ve created for at least 20 minutes. 


3. For Cleansing and Protection:

This spiritual bath is great for cleansing and protecting yourself from all bad energies. Add 1 tablespoon of rue, bay leaf, and rosemary (use more if you’re using fresh ingredients instead of dry), let it simmer for 20 minutes, and cool. Meanwhile, rinse yourself off in the shower so you are physically clean before you get in the tub. As the tub is filling, add baking soda and Woodsy Waters to help ground you with its detoxifying benefits and invigorating wintergreen scent. Light a candle and put on healing or protecting frequencies.


Before you get in, filter out the herbs from the mixture from earlier. Then, step into the tub and pour the mixture over you with either a cup or a spoon. Start from your head and work your way down. Then, sink into your tub, relax, and clear your mind. With this bath, it’s better to air dry than towel dry once you’re done!


4. For Deep Relaxation:

If you’re constantly exhausted or feeling depressed, it may be because your crown chakra is blocked. To soothe your restless mind, give this spiritual bath recipe a try. As the tub is filling, add 1 cup of Himalayan pink salt to support cleansing and dried lavender buds. When the tub is full, add Sweetest Dreams to help cleanse your crown chakra with its relaxing lavender and chamomile scent and indigo hue.


Before you get in, add Amethyst, Lepidolite, Sugilite either on the lip or in the water of the tub. Put on healing music and light a purple candle. As you soak, focus on the space on top of your head and imagine the negative energy releasing into the bath and coming back into your body as a healing bright white light.  


5. For Reflection:

This spiritual bath is a must to put everything into focus and to reflect on your life so far. As the tub is filling with warm water, sprinkle matcha powder and sea salt and shake it underwater a couple of times until it’s completely dissolved. When the tub is full, throw in King of Green and pink rose petals on top of the water. Before you get in, cleanse yourself with the smoke of sage or rosemary. 


Then, as you sink in, put on healing music and stare at the water for five minutes, letting your thoughts come and go (try not to blink during this step, let the tears come!). Then, close your eyes and take deep breaths in reflection, meditating on light and love.
