Green Queen: Kianna Reeves of Foria
Meet Kiana Reeves – somatic sex educator, pelvic care practitioner, certified doula, and Foria's Chief Education Officer. Kiana started her career in birth work as a full spectrum doula, working with mothers and families during birth, postpartum, abortion, and miscarriage. The more she studied, the more she realized that as a society we need more education around female pleasure, intimacy, and sexual wellness from a holistic perspective.
This realization sparked her passion for understanding the connection between wellness, sexuality, birth, intimacy, and the many cycles of change women experience during their lifespan. Her commitment to promoting open dialogue ultimately led her to become a voice for Foria as Chief Education Officer. With a commitment to teaching people to be more connected to their own sexual experiences and their bodies, Kiana harnesses her certifications and qualifications to help drive Foria’s product development and educational content. Her focus is to bring products like Awaken Arousal Oil and Basics CBD Suppositories, which help to enhance pleasure, relieve pain, and support optimal wellbeing for women and people with vulvas, to the forefront of the sexual wellness dialogue.
And if you haven't heard of Foria, where have you been?! Just kidding! Kinda.... Foria is a first-of-its-kind, sensual enhancement brand thoughtfully designed to meet the unmet needs of women through all-natural sexual wellness products featuring a blend of lab-tested cannabis oils. Offering a wide range of products that address intimacy, pain relief and optimal wellbeing, Foria is deeply committed to ingredient transparency, sustainable practices, environmental stewardship and a deep reverence for cannabis and its restorative healing powers.
What do you do?
I wear a few hats! I am the Chief Education Officer at Foria — which is a fancy name for directing our storytelling, brand voice, what we talk about, and how we show up in the world. I am also a somatic sex educator, full-spectrum doula, and mama of two little boys.
I came into the cannabis industry through a side door. I met our founder Mathew Gerson when I was running my own company that was focused on female sexual health and wellness, and due to some life circumstances my direction changed. I was able to merge my passion for sex ed, women's health, and plant medicine with what Foria was already doing: creating impactful formulas that address some very real needs.
What are you passionate about?
Deep down I am most passionate about motherhood, family, community, and re-organizing our society in a way that is supportive of our environment and respectful to all beings. My more niche passions really focus in the realm of sexuality, intimacy, and reclamation of our power as women through our bodies.
What does authenticity mean to you?
Authenticity as a personal quality, to me, means you don't compromise your values based on external input. It means staying true to your inner nature, what your gut tells you, your instinct, and you don't stray from how you know you want to express yourself or how you show up in the world. It is a particular kind of freedom, being truly authentic because you are not tied to anyone else's ideals but your very own.
What makes you authentic?
I would not really walk around claiming that as a particular quality I possess. I think authenticity is something that is judged by the people around you as their experience of you, not something you can claim for yourself. That said, I do strive to be as honest, transparent, and true to my instincts as possible. Always learning to listen and honor that inner voice better each day.
What is your mission in life?
To help people unwind our collective domestication and collective amnesia about who we are, and what we are here to do.
"You do not have to be good. / You do not have to walk on your knees / for a hundred miles through the desert, repenting. / You only have to let the soft animal of your body / love what it loves." - Mary Oliver
