Magical Monday Mantras: Honor Your Authentic Self

In our society we are taught to blend in, listen and abide, to take our place in the giant wheel that has been deemed the "status quo". For decades our grandparents, parents, and even us we were told that different is bad and that it is desired to blend in.

But now we say fuck that!

Life is not about blending in, life is about living in your true authenticity. About allowing yourself to laugh and play and dance and sing! It's about living your truth, honoring yourself and accepting yourself the way you are. So often we get caught up in our imperfections, but it is all those imperfections combined that make us authentically us and perfect.

We are multifaceted beings and it is about damn time we acknowledge it! We are allowed to have our contradictions and we most certainly are encouraged to create a relationship with your shadow self! Because it is important to accept ALL parts of ourselves not just what we feel society will like.

While we are seeing a global shift in consciousness, our disconnection and internalized negativity is still growing. From mindlessly scrolling through social media to the rampant amount of media we see daily, it's no wonder we are tending to feel numb, disconnected and unconsciously beginning to blend in with the status quo or judge ourselves harshly. But know this can be stopped! You can break the cycle and stop speaking negatively to yourself! You can instead accept and love yourself just the way you are! Because you are a piece of the Universe experiencing itself, we all are! And because of this, we are all perfect as our authentic imperfect selves.

Ways to Channel Authenticity:

  1. Be honest with yourself

  2. Honor your space and give yourself alone time

  3. Journal

  4. Don't get caught up in the "should do's" - instead ask yourself what you WANT and DESIRE to do

  5. Meditate

At the end of the day, only you know is authentic for you and so it is your responsibility to love and nurture that side of you. But don't fret!
